 NGC 247 is a faint highly elongated spiral galaxy that is part of the Sculptor group oaf galaxies. It's core is weakly concentrated and it has a low surface brightness, so it is a tough visual target in spite of it's size, which is nearly that of it's mcuh brighter neighbor NGC 253 (The Sculptor galaxy).
